Hello snow!
I was picked up from Dallas on 3 pm on Thursday afternoon right as the flurries picked up. I was about to walk out my apartment wearing only a sweater, then I look up & see the Norh Pole! I hope into my brother's large back seat after having these wild snow flakes crash into my face.
I hate cold. Everyone knows I keep it tropical - no matter the actual season. I have started tanning again because when the sun goes down early I get S.A.D. I am from the equator. I am a flower; without heat, without sun: I die.
Winters in Dallas, Texas do NOT last long - thank you birthday boy, Jesus - but every year I'll always go through the same exact phrases proclaiming my need to move to a tropical climate and NEVER come back again. I always thank my mother for moving more south after THE divorice to a place that has summers in the triple digits. I LOVE IT! I am stuck indoors. I can't image being outdoors in this "dead cold" of winter - it's freaking 40 degrees outside! YOU CRAZY!
This make my usual trips along Greenville Avenue non-exist come December till mid-February. I hold up the fort in my home with my electric blanket, order movies, read countless books, host bring-a-dish dinner parties or do my other absolutely favorite indoor activity: be online.
When it comes to cabin fever I will & have gone crazy, if left alone. I need people to be around so we can play games, talk & hang out. In 2003, I was stuck at home for nearly a week and couldn't leave because of an ice storm and I was living in Arlington. I couldn't walk 3 blocks to a club, bar or even a friend's home. I went through old journals & took the time to scrible out every single mention of an old crush's name. I'm talking about a little boy from elementary school. It was so time consuming & I spent one whole day thinking about him & how our lives might eventually meet up. Then I went back through about 4 journals and re-wrote his name.
I'll also clean & organize when I'm stuck indoors.
You know, being stuck indoors because of cold weather isn't so bad. |
